There are numerous different qualifications aimed at different specialities, training times & job expectations.

City & Guilds NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Installing Electrotechnical Systems and Equipment (Buildings & Structures)

C&G 2357-23 NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Electrotechnical Services (Electrical Maintenance)
This is similar to the previous city and guilds electrician qualification the main difference is it is specific to maintenance electricians rather than building installation electricians.
C&G 2365 Level 2 and C&G 2365 Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Installations (Buildings and Structures)
This course is most suited to people who are unable to obtain an apprenticeship. The level 2 qualification is designed for new comers to the industry it provides them with the basic skills that the need. The level 3 qualification is for those who have already completed level 2.
C&G 2356 NVQ Level 3 in Electrotechnical Services and Systems
This course is designed for people already working as electricians (individuals with foreign qualifications, people working in the electricians mate positions). The qualification allows the people to complete a work based NVQ in addition to the C&G 2365 evening classes people can become qualified electricians.
City & Guilds 2382-15 – 17th Edition of the Wiring Regulations BS 7671:2008 (Requirements of Electrical Installations – Level 3)
This qualification is a necessity for someone to become fully qualified. It includes EIT wiring regulations which are British standard for electrical installations in England, Wales & Scotland.
C&G 2394 Level 3 Award in the Initial Verification and Certification of Electrical Installations
This qualification is a necessity for someone to become fully qualified. It includes EIT wiring regulations which are British standard for electrical installations in England, Wales & Scotland.
CompEx Full EX01-04
This is for electricians planning to work in dangerous and potentially explosive areas, to apply for the training you must already be a qualified electrician with industry experience.
City & Guilds 2393-10 IEE Building Regulations
This course covers building regulations standards relevant to electricians. It is useful when taken in conjunction with competent person schemes like NICIEC and NAPIT.
C&G 2377 In-service Inspection and testing of Electrical Equipment (PAT Testing)
Is is specifically for portable appliance training testers, its a 2 day course that enables you to conduct PAT testing.
